Fishes is always looking for fisheries that meet our conditions, namely to provide good, sustainable and delicious fish, with a story to tell. With a number of such fisheries we are currently in a phase of inventorying the possibilities with the local community. As soon as we complete this phase and the fishery has been formally certified, they will be part of the ‘Fishes Selected Fisheries’. Additionally, there are fisheries we work with that are busy expanding their scope. The situation may be such that a fishery has already been certified for one type of fish, but that their fishing methods can also be used for the sustainable catch of several types of fish.

Handline caught Sea Bass
The Dutch Association of Professional Handline Fishermen (Vereniging van Beroepsmatige Handlijnvissers, VBHL) catch sea bass in a highly sustainable manner. This fantastic fish is caught off the Dutch coast by boats less than 10 metres long. This fishery is currently in the last phase of certification, and we hope to add this fishery to our range before the end of the year 2010.

Normandy Lobster
This fishery in France is due to receive its certification soon, so we are looking forward to delectable certified lobster. We'll keep you informed.
